We heard about little July three days ago when the shelter contacted Aussie Rescue to let us know he had come in as a stray on the 4th of July and to see if there was a puppy foster available to take him in when his stray hold time was up. My husband, Jason, and son, Ben, went to visit him that same day. They weren't allowed to hold him, but they could see he was a sweet boy and they snapped a few photos.

We visited him again the next day and got some photos of him out of the pen and started making plans to bring him into rescue when his hold time was up.

Today Ben and I finally were able to go and get July out of "jail" and bring him home. Because we have another puppy here, he has to be in a health quarantine/isolation here for a few days until she goes to her new home.

When we got July home we weighed him, gave him a dose of worming medication, a nice bath, nail trim, teeth brushing, & ear cleaning. He tolerated it all very well! After some playtime in the long front yard grass with Ben and a loooong day, he was ready to take a nap in his new puppy pen.

July loves to play with toys and likes his new food. He seems very happy to be here. But when he is unhappy he has the strangest little cry-- it sounds like a human baby at times, and a parrot at other times! We have never heard such a sound from a puppy, but it is getting him lots of spoiling attention!
